Month after wife's suicide, man held for abetment

CHENNAI: Police on Saturday arrested a man for abetment of suicide, after his wife killed two of their children before committing suicide by hanging herself on February 24.37-year-old Abhitha killed kids Lakshminarayanan, 10, and Mahalakshmi, 7, by hanging before ending her life in their house in Ramapuram, Porur, when her husband Senthamarai was away. Senthamari, 44, runs a computer service centre in Arumbakkam Following Abhitha's suicide, her mother Shantha lodged a complaint accusing her son-in-law for abetting the suicide and murder of her grandchildren.Based on the complaint, police inquired Senthamarai and arrested him on Saturday. He was remanded in judicial custody after being produced before a magistrate court in the city.Police had earlier recovered a suicide note left behind by Abhitha in which she accused Senthamarai of fighting with her frequently and suspecting her fidelity.
