Stalin, Rajinikanth call on ailing Vijayakanth

CHENNAI: Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and DMK president M K Stalin called on ailing DMDK chief Vijayakanth on Friday.Rajinikanth called on Vijayakanth at his residence in Saligramam here in the morning and inquired about his health.A few hours later, Stalin met the DMDK leader. Vijayakanth was very fond of Kalaignar (former chief minister M Karunanidhi)," Stalin said.At the time of Karunanidhi's death, Vijayakanth was abroad for treatment. “He is better now, and we need him for the country,” the DMK president told reporters after the meeting.Replying to reporters' queries, Stalin said he had not discussed politics with Vijayakanth. "Soon after landing in Chennai, Vijayakanth went directly to Kalaignar memorial and paid his homage. Asked whether the DMK would welcome the DMDK into its alliance, Stalin said he appreciated the goodwill of the media.

He cried profusely in a video message sent to me,” said Stalin."Soon after landing in Chennai, Vijayakanth went directly to Kalaignar memorial and paid his homage. This is proof for his love for Kalaignar," said Stalin.
