Man murdered for honking, cops solve month-old case

Things soon took a violent turn, when the suspects started assaulting the man, who retaliated by hitting them back. Following the incident, the suspects fled from the scene, while leaving his body along the side of the road. Around the same time, one of the suspects drew a sharp-edged weapon and stabbed Natha multiple times. He was found murdered via stabbing wounds to his chest. The deceased was identified as Natha Vitthal Pogalwar (Telang) and the autopsy report found that the chopper used in the attack was still inside his body, while the hilt was missing.

Aurangabad: Working on the month-old brutal murder of a man in the Khalapuri area of Jalna, the local crime branch has nabbed four people, including two minors, who confessed during the preliminary probe to murdering the man for honking.The Jalna police found the dead body of a man in his 30s on the morning of March 3 on the road between Teerthpuri and Khalapuri. He was found murdered via stabbing wounds to his chest. The deceased was identified as Natha Vitthal Pogalwar (Telang) and the autopsy report found that the chopper used in the attack was still inside his body, while the hilt was missing. Based on the findings, a murder case was registered with the Gondi police station.Unable to find the motive behind the murder, the cops were in the dark until a couple of days ago, when the local crime branch team led by inspector Rajendersingh Gaur learnt about the involvement in the case of some youths from the Teerthpur village of the Ghansawngi taluka of the district. Accordingly, they were rounded up for questioning, during which they confessed to murdering the man in a brawl that started with honking.Superintendent of police S Chaitanya said the probe has revealed that on the night of March 2, the five accused, were riding two bikes to a farm for a party. The arrested accused have been identified as Somnath Kachru Bhalshankar, Yogesh Pralhad Chimne and two minors, while their accomplice is on the run.Police said that the suspects, who were riding in the middle of the deserted road, got upset when Natha, who was heading home, honked at them from behind.Upset by the honking, the suspects waylaid him and asked why he was honking, after which they got in to a heated argument.
