Thumpers Cafe ride for drug free India

BATHINDA: Aiming to inculcate revolutionary spirit in the drive against drugs, the Thumpers Café, a riders group in association with Flicker Hoods organized a ride on Sunday.Named as “A Ride For Drug Free India”, the enthusiastic organizers got support from Special Task Force (STF) of Punjab Police in this endeavour. The ride was also supported by ANANDA apartments, Sector 86, Mohali, Bigrox and RADIO MIRCHI. Event featured malwai giddha, gatka-martial arts and bhangra performances. The STF has been engaging to wipe out drug menace from Punjab in a dedicated manner.As per Thumpers Cafe member Munish Kumar Soni , the ride, flagged off by STF ADGP Gurpreet Kaur Deo started from Sector 86 Mohali and culminated at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh followed by a cultural event.The Thumpers decided to organise Rang De Basanti-2019 (RDB-2019).This is for the first time that RDB will be organised as pan India event simultaneously in more than 30 cities including Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Ambala, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patiala, Pune and Shimla.The organisers claimed that over 6000 riders will be on their bikes to spread awareness of the cause against drugs and to share gratitude to the great martyrs.Thumpers Café is the biggest riding group in tri-city Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula and has over 400 riders from various professional fields as its members.
