Prakash Singh Badal aide's anticipatory bail plea dismissed in fraud case

The bureau had also claimed that he purchased property in other states from this income. BATHINDA: The anticipatory bail plea of senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Dyal Singh Kolianwali has been rejected by a Mohali court on Friday.The anticipatory bail was rejected as the vigilance bureau added two more sections - Sections 467 (forgery of valuable security, will) and 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) of the Indian Penal Code - in the case against him. Kolianwali applied for anticipatory bail in the court of special judge Mohali Monika Goyal on March 13 after the vigilance bureau added charges of cheating and forgery against two persons in transfer of land at Kolianwali village.He had been granted bail on February 16 as default on technical grounds when the vigilance bureau failed to file the chargesheet in stipulted time frame of 60 days.Now, the vigilance bureau, Bathinda has started making efforts to arrest Kolianwali again. Bathinda vigilance bureau SSP Ashok Bath said, "After the vigilance detected forgery by Kolianwali in transfer of land, various sections were added to the already registered case, he had applied for anticipatory bail which the court rejected today. Kolianwali was accused of amassing wealth and disproportionate assets and a case under Prevention of Corruption Act was registered on June 30 last year.Kolianwali evaded arrest for many months and had surrendered only after Supreme court had rejected his anticipatory bail and had asked him to approach the competent court.The vigilance had registered the first case after it detected Kolianwali while holding public offices as chairperson of Punjab agro food grains and member subordinate selection board and as sarpanch of Kolianwali village had spent Rs. 1.71 crore more than his earning from known sources of income. The bureau had also claimed that he purchased property in other states from this income.
