1,000 board schools yet to upload practical marks

ALLAHABAD: UP Board's efforts to declare the results of examinations on time might be derailed by schools' delay in uploading marks scored by class X and XII students on the board's official website. Around 1,059 high school and intermediate schools from across the state are yet to upload the internal assessment marks of students on UP Board's official website.The board has now prepared a list of errant schools and issued notices to their management, instructing them to upload the marks at the earliest failing which stern action would be taken against them. Many schools have already complied with the order and the rest would be doing the same within a couple of days." UP Board examinations for class X and XII students started simultaneously on February 7 and concluded on March 2.The board had set up seven evaluation centres in Allahabad to check over 14 lakh answer sheets. Officials said that the evaluation process is almost complete.

The UP Board secretary had directed district inspector of schools (DIOS) to ensure that the internal marks are uploaded at the earliest and provide it a list of schools who had failed to comply with the orders.UP Board secretary said that school management would be taken to task if they still did not comply with the orders as their laxity could delay the declaration of results.Officials said that most of the errant schools were from Ghazipur (112), followed by Allahabad (59), Azamgarh (54), Deoria (44), Kannauj (27), Gonda (27) and Maharajganj (8).Due to the laxity of schools, internal assessment marks of a total of 18,484 students have not been yet uploaded on the board's website.DIOS (Allahabad), RN Vishvakarma, said, "We were instructed by board officials to expedite the process of updation of internal assessment marks. Many schools have already complied with the order and the rest would be doing the same within a couple of days."
