Provide scanners, computers to depts: HC to law offices

When the case came up before the court again, the court took an exception to it and passed the above directives and observations. This order was passed on March 15. By not doing this, the state government prima facie appears to be acting contrary to the state litigation policy and against its own interest.On March 11, 2019, the state government had issued a direction with regard to communication of court orders and preparation of affidavits etc through emails, but no scanners or computers were provided in state law offices for scanning of the documents for this purpose. Allahabad: Taking a serious note of lack of modern communication facilities (like e-mail etc) between state government and state law offices in Allahabad and Lucknow, the Allahabad High Court has directed the state government to provide scanning machines, computers, man power etc for speedy communication of court’s order to various departments of state government by June 30, 2019.Hearing an appeal filed by the state government, which had been pending since 1988, Justice Surya Prakash Kesarwani observed, The state government has no will to improve the working of the State Law Office at Allahabad and Lucknow, to cooperate in expeditious disposal of cases and for proper contest of cases.
