‘Chadar’ from PM Narendra Modi offered at Ajmer dargah

AJMER: A ‘chadar’ from Prime Minister Narendra Modi was offered on Wednesday at the dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisty on the occasion of 807th Urs . “On the annual Urs of this great Sufi saint, I express my tributes to him by sending this ‘chadar’ at Dargah Ajmer Sharif,” the message said. Union minister for minority affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi presented the ‘chadar’ on behalf of the PM.Naqvi also read the message sent by PM Modi on this occasion. Various saints, pirs and fakirs in our country have given a message of peace, unity and harmony from time to time. He also inaugurated Khwaja Gharib Nawaz Dispensary (OPD) at Dargah Apartment, Civil Lines, Ajmer.Meanwhile, malangs (spiritual people) are coming from different parts of the country to participate in the annual Urs here in Ajmer.

This country has a harmonious existence of religions, communities, faiths and beliefs. Various saints, pirs and fakirs in our country have given a message of peace, unity and harmony from time to time. They have played a key role in spreading the message of discipline, decency and self-restraint,” the message read.The message said that Khwaja is a symbol of spiritual traditions of India and of service to humanity. “On the annual Urs of this great Sufi saint, I express my tributes to him by sending this ‘chadar’ at Dargah Ajmer Sharif,” the message said. Naqvi said the Prime Minister believes in the legacy of Sufi saints for protecting human values and justice.Naqvi also laid foundation stone for the Khwaja Gharib Nawaz University at Kayar Vishram Sthali, to be established by the Ajmer Dargah Committee. He also inaugurated Khwaja Gharib Nawaz Dispensary (OPD) at Dargah Apartment, Civil Lines, Ajmer.Meanwhile, malangs (spiritual people) are coming from different parts of the country to participate in the annual Urs here in Ajmer. Many of them were seen holding the tricolour while marching towards the dargah. One of the malangs said that they are against terrorism and are with the country on this issue.The number of devotees coming to attend the Urs has increased and the dargah bazaar remains crowded even at night. There is a heavy police protection at the railway station and the bus stand.
