AGRA: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) student Ajay Singh , grandson of BJP MLA Dalveer Singh, has demanded security from the UP police on Wednesday as he fears threat to his life. The students’ union has announced that they will hold a protest if Ajay is not expelled by the disciplinary committee in its meeting scheduled on Feb 23.According to the member of Students’ union, the fracas was created by Ajay, as he had been targeting the university for the past several months for political gains. He has also demanded a fair inquiry into the violent clash between two groups of students on February 12 by a central agency. In his memorandum to SSP Aligarh Akash Kulhari, LLM first year student Ajay Singh, who was booked by the police for rioting and voluntarily causing hurt, on the complaint of AMU security officer, said that there is threat to his and his supporters’ lives. He said that according to police record, there are 56 students with criminal cases enrolled in AMU and instead of taking action against them, the administration is providing protection to them.He said, “The AMU administration and students, who have been booked in the recent fracas will be responsible, if anything happens to me and my supporters”.He alleged that there are many students in the campus who are involved in anti-national activities and recently a Kashmiri student had tweeted in support of Jaish-e-Mohammad after the Pulwama attack in Kashmir. He said that there is threat to lives of students who belong to the Hindu community. He urged the SSP to enquire about Basim Hilal, who was booked by police for hailing the Pulwama attack via his Twitter account, from Kashmiri students and ensure that no second Mannan Wani, the research scholar turned Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist, who later killed by Army, comes up in AMU.Meanwhile, the AMU Students’ Union is still adamant on its demand of expulsion of Ajay even though they ended their six-day-long agitation late on Monday.
