What Will Be BJP`s Plan B If It Fails To Win Majority In Lok Sabha Election 2024? Amit Shah Responds

Lok Sabha Election 2024: Four phases of the ongoing Lok Sabha Election 2024 in India have been completed across 381 Lok Sabha seats out of a total of 543. The polling for the fifth phase is scheduled to take place on May 20 in 49 constituencies across eight states. The BJP, which is aiming to retain power at the Centre for the third consecutive time, is hopeful of reaching the majority mark (272) single-handedly. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the Abki Baar 400 Paar slogan, stressing that the BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) will win over 400 seats in the Lok Sabha Election. However, after the culmination of the first two phases, the opposition INDIA bloc has claimed that the BJPs vote share has decreased significantly and the saffron brigade will fail to reach the majority mark on its own. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has even claimed in several of his public rallies that Narendra Modi "is not becoming the PM of the country for the third time". The opposition parties have also alleged that the BJP will change the Constitution of India if they achieve their 400-paar aim. "I dont see any such possibilities. An army of 60 crore-strong beneficiaries are standing with PM Modi, they have no caste or age group. Those who have received all these benefits know Narendra Modi kya hain aur kyun 400 dena chahiye," Shah said, as quoted by ANI. Asked what will be BJPs course of action if it fails to get to the majority mark, Shah said that the party will not need a plan B as plan A would succeed. "Plan B needs to be made only when there is less than a 60% chance for Plan A (to succeed). I am certain that PM Modi will come to power with a thumping majority," Shah said. On the oppositions allegations that the BJP wants to win 400 seats to change the Constitution, Shah refuted the claims and said that the BJP had the mandate to make changes in the Constitution for the past decade but never did so. He further said that the partys aim to secure more than 400 seats is to bring stability to the countrys political landscape. "We have had the mandate to change the Constitution for the last 10 years, but we never did that. What do you think Rahul Baba and company would say, and the country will believe it? This country has given us a clear mandate, and the people of this country already know that Modi ji already had sufficient majority to change the constitution, but we never did that," Shah said. "Yes, we want to win 400 seats in the LS polls to bring stability to politics in the country. We want 400 seats to protect our borders, to make India the third-largest economy in the world, and to ensure that a few poor people who are yet to get the benefits, and we have to fulfil it. We want 400 seats because clean water is yet to reach every household, and there is a lot of work to be done in the field of natural farming in this country. We want 400 seats because we want to provide free treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh to every senior citizen aged above 70 years of age," he further said.
